Miss Helen Beadle

Year 4 Class Teacher

BA (Hons) in Drama, PGCE Head of Coleman House

Willington Life- I joined Willington in December 2021 as maternity cover for Miss Hill in Year 4. A year later, I was offered a permanent contract and I am delighted to still be teaching here, in Year 4. In my 10 years of teaching, I have had experience across Years 1-4. I teach across the curriculum and have a particular passion for history, maths and the creative arts. I always aim to bring my theatrical background into the classroom, to create a day full of engaging learning experiences. As well as being Head of House for Coleman, I run a puzzles and problems club in which we solve wordles, sodukus and crosswords.

Additional Languages Spoken - None fluently (un poco de español)

My First School - I went to Danesfield from Reception to Year 6. It was a one form entry, co-ed independent school in Walton-on-Thames. My favourite memories were the headteacher bringing her dog to school, all the fun drama productions I was able to take part in and one of the best teachers I had, who used to always think of fun and interesting ways to help us remember tricky learning (she played an influential role in developing myself as a teacher).

Childhood Memory - My fondest memories as a child were sleepovers at my grandparents house and the day we drove all the way to Somerset to collect our first family pet, Purdy (suitably named after my favourite film as a child - 101 dalmatians).
