Mental Health Awareness Week
Friday 1st to 5th February
We were delighted to support the charity Place2Be for a week long focus on children's mental health. During assemblies and form time children discussed "what do we do when we feel blue" and reflected on five ways to wellbeing; connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give. On Wednesday, everyone took a digital detox with a screen-free day. In advance, teachers re-imagined the usual Wednesday lessons for the children to work off-line in many creative ways. Feedback from children and parents was overwhelmingly positive, with everyone relishing a change to the usual lockdown routine. Throughout the week, every year group completed a PASS Survey (Pupil Attitude to Self and School) to help inform our wellbeing initiatives, and on Friday we all joined in Dress to Express Yourself Day with funds raised to help Place2Be continue their wonderful work.
